New: Attack/Defence difficulty split and squad player view
Two additions to the tool today: a new Attack / Defence difficulty split, and the ability to load your own FPL squad and see your players highlighted in the table.
Attack and Defence difficulty split
A toggle above the gameweek slider now lets you switch between three views of the same fixtures:
- Overall — the official FPL fixture difficulty rating, unchanged from before.
- Attack — how easy it is for a team's forwards and midfielders to score, based on how strong the opposition's defence is.
- Defence — how easy it is for a team's defenders and goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet, based on how strong the opposition's attack is.
The Score column and team rankings update to reflect whichever mode is active. The official FDR combines both ends of the pitch into a single number, which can hide useful information — a team might have an easy run for attackers but a difficult one for defenders against the same opponents. Attack and Defence ratings are derived from the underlying team strength data in the FPL API and normalised to the same 1–5 colour scale.
Squad player view
Enter your FPL team ID in the "Your FPL team" box above the fixture table and click Load. The tool fetches your current squad from the FPL API and does two things:
- Adds a purple badge to each team row showing how many players from that team you own — visible without opening any panel.
- Highlights your owned players with a purple outline inside the expanded player panel when you click into a team.
Your team ID is saved in your browser so it loads automatically on your next visit. Find your ID in the URL when you visit My Team on the FPL website — e.g. fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/5517463/...
Note: the squad shown reflects your picks from the most recently played gameweek. Transfers made during the week won't appear until the next gameweek starts.
