Frequently asked questions
- What is fixture difficulty rating (FDR) in FPL?
- FDR is a 1–5 score assigned by the official Fantasy Premier League API to each upcoming fixture. A rating of 1 or 2 indicates an easy fixture; 4 or 5 indicates a tough one. Ratings reflect the relative strength of the opposition and are updated throughout the season.
- What does H and A mean in FPL fixtures?
- H means the team is playing at home; A means away. Home fixtures are generally considered slightly easier, though this is not reflected directly in the FDR score.
- What is a double gameweek in FPL?
- A double gameweek (DGW) is when a team plays two Premier League fixtures in a single FPL gameweek. This doubles the potential points return for players from that team. Double gameweeks appear as two fixture chips in the same column on this table.
- What is a blank gameweek in FPL?
- A blank gameweek (BGW) is when a team has no fixture in a particular gameweek, usually due to FA Cup or other scheduling conflicts. These appear as a dash (—) in the table.
- How do I use this table to plan FPL transfers?
- Use the gameweek range slider to select the weeks you're planning for. Teams with mostly green (1–2) fixtures over that run are the best targets for transfers and differential picks. The Score column sums each team's FDR values so you can rank them at a glance.
- How often are FDR values updated?
- Fixture difficulty ratings are pulled directly from the official FPL API and cached for one hour, so the table always reflects the latest values published by Fantasy Premier League.
- What does the Score column mean?
- The Score column sums each team's fixture difficulty ratings across your selected gameweek range. A higher score means easier fixtures — so sorting by Score descending (the default) puts the best fixture runs at the top.
- What player information is shown when I click a team?
- Clicking a team row expands a panel showing three lists: the top 5 players by total points this season, the 5 most selected players by ownership percentage, and the 5 players in best current form. Each player shows their position, price, and the relevant stat.
- What do the coloured dots on player avatars mean?
- A coloured dot on a player's photo indicates they are not fully available. Amber means doubtful; red means injured or suspended; grey means unavailable. No dot means the player is available to select.
- What is form in FPL?
- Form is a rolling average of a player's points per game over recent gameweeks, as calculated by the official FPL system. A high form rating indicates a player has been performing well recently, regardless of their season total.
- What is the difference between Attack and Defence difficulty?
- The Overall view uses the official FPL difficulty rating, which combines both ends of the pitch. Attack difficulty shows how hard it is for a team's attackers and midfielders to score — based on the opponent's defensive strength. Defence difficulty shows how hard it is for a team's defenders and goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet — based on the opponent's attacking strength. A team can have an easy attacking fixture but a difficult defensive one against the same opponent.
- When should I use Attack mode versus Defence mode?
- Use Attack mode when you're looking for forwards and midfielders with favourable scoring opportunities. Use Defence mode when you're targeting defenders or goalkeepers likely to return clean sheets. Switch to Overall for a general view when assessing a team across all positions.
- How do I see which players I already own in the table?
- Enter your FPL team ID in the "Your FPL team" box above the fixture table and click Load. Your owned players will be highlighted with a purple outline when you expand any team row, and a small badge on each team row shows how many players from that team you currently own.
- Where do I find my FPL team ID?
- Sign in to the official FPL website and go to My Team. Your team ID is the number in the page URL — for example, if the URL reads fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/5517463/... then your ID is 5517463.
- Is my FPL team data stored or shared?
- Your team ID is saved only in your own browser (localStorage) so it persists between visits. No account or login is required, and your team ID is never stored on our servers or shared with anyone.
- Does the squad view update when I make transfers?
- The squad shown reflects your picks from the most recently played gameweek — not transfers made during the week. The FPL API doesn't expose mid-week squad changes, so your updated squad will only appear once the next gameweek has started and you've submitted your picks.
